Creepy crawling atmospheres with unsettling whispery vocals, moaning tortured women, funeral keyboards, and hallucinogenic ambience, alternating with mid-paced blasting BM intensity.
This album is more straight-forward Black Metal than their first full-length, but it nonetheless retains the folkish melodies and atmosphere, complete with delicate acoustic passages, occasional female vocals, Celtic tin whistles/flutes (used sparingly) and subtle, not at all overbearing keyboard flourishes (also used sparingly). Above all, however, this is just a very, very enjoyable, well-written album of pagan black metal. Recommended, especially for fans of their previous works, and for fans of bands such as Satanic Warmaster, Goatmoon, and even Grand Belial's Key and Akitsa.
